I used a 73 up stand, with a 3/8" flat plate welded on top to extend foward. On top I had a bracket& clamshell mount from a 78 sed deville. My eng was also set back far enough that I had to rework the firewall around the heads.(Im a weight transfer nut!).My guess is that if you leave the eng far enough ahead for firewall clearance, you would be better off using an early 70s cad mount,& building brackets to hang off the frame ahead of the crossmember. Good luck.....69 longhorn.
