Just picked up my first C10

Well i joined on the site a few weeks ago and finally found a C10 I could work with. I wanted a 67-72 Short/Fleet/two tone. I found this one in Charlotte for $6200. It has some rust bubbles here and there but, it runs and drives better than my new truck. Plans are to lower it a little bit more and convert to 5 lug wheels. Still undecided on wheel sizes and style. So if anyone can point me in the right direction for the 5 lug conversion I would appreciate it. Also how do you think I made out for the price? Can't wait to start daily driving it.

If you are undecided on what wheels to get, why not skip the 5 lug wheel conversion and get 6 lug wheels, there is a whole bunch of them to choose from..............just a thought.........................Flat67

Re: Just picked up my first C10

looks like $6000 worth to me. what year is the truck 69 or 70? if you want to do the 5 lug conversion with stock spindle hieght, search craigslist or craiglook I see them in the charlotte area a lot with just the rearend and front crossmember out of a 71/72. if you want to go new there are several choices ,I plan on using ECE stuff in mine . good luck

Re: Just picked up my first C10

Thanks for all the compliments and advice. I was looking at either rocket racing wheels or vintage wheel works so, thats the reason for the 5 lug conversion. Hart_Rod, I crew UH-60 Black Hawk's. Only for about 8 more months though. Im getting out and moving back to southern California.

Re: Just picked up my first C10

Smitty, thanks for the offer. Do you know of any good car shows in the area? I usually go to the Charlotte auto fair. I also run my Grand National at Fayetteville and Rockingham quite a bit. leddzepp, I'm from Long Beach. That is where I plan on moving back to as I have a job lined up for me there.

Found a 72 parts truck in charlotte if your interested, that would be your easiest swap, everything looks complete.

You did really good on the price. In California they would of asked like 8-9k for that truck. They are getting expensive out here
