problem with granny tranny

Wont stay in second gear. I have to assume that the syncros are bad. The question is, where might I find them. The suspect is in my 67 c30 behind a 292 six with pto for the dump hydraulics. My quess is this trans is used in 3/4 ton trucks as well. I plan on pulling the trans as soon as I locate some syncros so let me know. Thanks

Usually its not the syncros that cause this. Its the little square pieces that hold the syncro assembly engauged to the gear. I have no idea what the true name is but have always heard of them being called dogs. You may get lucky finding parts locally if there is a big truck trans shop around. That is where I got bushings for a SM465.
