Hi All!

Glad to be a member, been a long time lurker, always doing research. Decided it was finally time to join. I'm mainly into the square body trucks right now, but also enjoy VW aircooled, military, and Jeep trucks>the gladiator style ones.

My first project, slightly unfinished, need to redo the bed- made made a few mistakes painting; a 1985 GMC K1500, installed a 6.5 Turbo diesel, with an NV4500, NP208. That's the metallic green truck.

My current project is a 1986 CUCV M1008, K30, picked up as cab and frame, installed installed a set of 1 ton Cab and Chassis dually axles, eventual 3 or 4 inch lift, 292 inline 6, backed by an early low first NV4500 and NP208.

Thanks! I thought about keeping the CUCV stock, but wiring has been spliced too many times, and I've been wanting a 292 K truck for a while. Had a 1977 motor with maybe 20,000 original miles on it waiting for a truck.

Those 4.56 gears in the one tons axles should help move that straight 6 right along.

I love the clack clack clack of the 6.2 diesels though. Someday I would like to score one of those rigs.

The axles under the one ton are not original and have 4:10's, pretty good for my plans with the truck.

The 6.x series motors definitely have some quirks and downfalls, but I've always loved them, and while they aren't power motors, they do a dang good job.
