72 tilt wheel question ( shift lever)

I have tried to buy 2 different shift levers for my tilt wheel.
Can anyone tell me if they had same problem if so how to fix it.
I was thinking about putting the notch in the new part but wanted to make sure
it would work before i did.I bought the lever from LMC they are telling me its the right part. They don't even look the same.

Thanks for any help...

Not sure if the curve would matter, but that notch is not supposed to be there. They wear into them, I usually weld that back up in an original lever to make it work in the detent better.

My tilt column shift lever has the same notch in it, if that's normal wear and you can weld it back, would you use a die grinder to prep the area then build it back totally with weld on top of weld?

I also replaced mine with LMC. My old one had the worn groove too.
The LMC should fit, have you lifted the little spring out of the way?

I did move the spring back out of the way. The old one goes in just fine.
Do you know if the slight curve makes any difference.
