Need Pics of Power Booster & non power booster

I cant figure out if I have power brakes or not. Maybe its working on it so much my brain has turned to jello. Anything to help me figure out would be nice, thanks....

power booster

If you have a booster it will look something like what is to the right of the engine on the firewall in this pic (Driver side). The brake master cylinder bolts to it. Without a booster the master cylinder is bolted directly to the firewall.

If you have power brakes, you'll have a hose from your brake booster to the back of your carb or intake manifold.

in reply, I have an edelbrock 1407 so the check valve line that comes out of the booster goes to the back of the carb?

Yes on the 1407, in back at the base. It may have a plug in there now. If so, you'll need a fitting for it and a small piece of 3/8 flared gas line steel tubing to thread into that fitting. The rubber line to check valve then goes over the 3/8 tubing

You can also run the hose to the intake if you have a fitting there for it.

one other thing, trying to find out why I get brake fluid coming out the top of the mast cylinder, good rubber seal and lid...Ideas?

One or two fastening straps? The one in the pic has 2 straps. These are better than the singles. It could be that the cover and cylinder don't sit flush. If it's new, take it back and get it replaced.

The only ones I have seen not leak are the ones that are empty.
Try this. Aother member told this to me, I have tried it, but the truck has yet to see the road.
remove most of the brake fluid from the master. Don't spill it, it'll ruin the paint.
Stuff the 2 portions with paper towels. Use a long flat file (the wider the better) and lightly run it across the top perfecly level. (drag it on the lef and right at the same time)
This will help make a flat mating surface for the rubber to seal on.
