what lugs do I hook up a remote starter up to?

On the solenoid there are (3) lugs. I know for sure which one is V+.
And then there's the "R" and "S" lug.
I got a push button remote starter with Black and Red jumpers, which wire goes where?

Thanks guys!

One wire goes to the S term & the other to the hot term. V+ ?

To the "S" "S" is for the activation of the starter. "R" is for older models to supply power to the ignition coil while cranking.

Easier to utilize a remote when you rewire with a ford solenoid to help eliminate the heat soak issue------ if present

So, Black Remote Starter Jumper Wire To "S" Solenoid Lug
And, Red Remote Starter Jumper Wire To "V+" Solenoid Lug

Right?

I'm not sure what V+ is but a good term that is hot all the time like the pos. bat cable. It really doesn't matter which jumper wire goes to each one.

A remote starter switch is a simple momentary single pole, single throw switch.. There is no need to observe polarity on the wires.. One lead (either one) connects to the "S" terminal (the one closest to the engine block) and the other lead connects to the positive post of the battery, or the top post on the starter solenoid which is the other end of the positive battery cable..

No. One wire to the "S" terminal and other to the battery Positive terminal (V+)

Depending on how long the wires are, I'd hook the cable clamps to the starter's "S" terminal and the battery positive post. Reason being that it's possible for those clamps to turn while you're working, and ending up with constant cranking when they short together, and you might not want that. Easier to pop the clamp off the battery, up where you are punching the button.

Re: what lugs do I hook up a remote starter up to?

Yeah Hey Thanks Everybody! I did hook up the remote starter button to the positive terminal on the battery and the "S" terminal on the starter motor's solenoid.
No go, I got some electrical problems somewhere along the line.
My arms are sore from hassling with starters yesterday and my ears are sore from listening to my ole lady complaining about her losing her garage spot for her Honda....

I'll start back on this once I recover...

Ask her if her Honda can do "truck stuff". Hope you get the wiring figured out.

Hope you get it going.

I have to use that often with my Better Half.

I'll not hesitate to offer advice on finding that electrical problem, but I draw the line at offering marital harmony advice.. I've been married to the same woman for only 58 years so I don't have a lot of experience in that department...

***I admire you both!***

Me and my Wife have 40.
Ha! and I just got finished scrolling over X (twitter) and there was a question, "What Would You Do If You Could Time Travel to 1986?",
I'd go back and tell my Wife "Thank You".....
