Glovebox emblem mounting question
This is my 1968 C50 glove box door. It has no holes on the backside of the inner panel to allow for nuts or retaining clips. I removed the door completely thinking there may be some secret entrance but to no avail. While I had the glove box door off I could hear the original emblem retaining nuts rolling around in there. Currently my thought is to use some sort of epoxy putty and blob it on the emblem tabs and press it in. Of course there’s always double sided tape too, but it got me to wondering, what would you do if you were aiming for a concours restoration? Peel back the pinch fold and separate the door halves?

Re: Glovebox emblem mounting question
Since the door was painted before the emblem is installed GM must have used little barrel retainers. Check with NAPA. They should have some.

Re: Glovebox emblem mounting question
Good (3M) double sided tape has held mine for 20+ years.

Re: Glovebox emblem mounting question
Im pretty sure barrel nuts were used to hold the emblem in but 3m tape should work just fine

Re: Glovebox emblem mounting question
I've seen these push-in retainers used for similar applications. https://www.ebay.com/itm/32328646204...yABEgK4ifD_BwE
I'm not sure what was used for the glovebox though, and I don't know if these are the right size. I believe these are what Michael was referring to.
