1972 k10 battery cables help

Does anyone know what length both battery cables are for a 72 k10 with a 350 and A/C. Looking to route them as they were from the factory and any brands/places to get a good quality cable. Also which side of the battery is the positive supposed to be on? Passenger side?

Re: 1972 k10 battery cables help

Roger Koop (member here) was selling a decent set of repro battery cables with the correct side post connections. A search or PM should turn up that information. Positive is on the driver side of the battery if I recall.

Re: 1972 k10 battery cables help

1972 350 with A/C

Marking on 44" cable = 6093TLP
Marking on 27" cable = 4784TAL

I can't measure the wire gauge, but based on my micrometer measuring the OVERALL thickness of the insulation & wire (.428) I'd say this is a 2 gauge.

Hope that helps...........

How long is the aux wire on the positive cable? Any idea on the gauge of it? Does the ground wire have a extra wire also? If so how long is it ect.

Re: 1972 k10 battery cables help

Both have a secondary wires measuring .178

+ wire is 18" long
- wire is 17" long

I didn't state earlier, but this is for the factory side mount battery, NOT the top mount. Not sure how much difference it would make, just pointing it out.
