Re: New S-10 frame/engine id

5 lug S-Series, 6 lug 1500.

My guess would be 88-98. Since it appears tbi, 88-95...

I would think that this number : "dr. side pad stamping/rt rr. top frame rail (same #'s) =CLZ233333" is the last of the vin...

Re: New S-10 frame/engine id

Yeah 6 lug means full size truck see how long the wheel base is on it.On the t case see if you can find any markings to a model number on it.If its a push button 4x4 case you could rig it up to work like that.

Andrew the wheelbase is 118" heres a pic of the t case tag tyvm for your help

this is a quote from another thread

"While the S10 units are internally the same, they have their shifter tower sitting right at the end of the tail shaft, and they have only 5 bolts for the transfercase instead of 6."
in the last pic are these the 5 bolts in question?

another quote
"You can also bolt in a 96 - 06 5 speed into your truck if you are willing to switch over to the internal clutch slave / throwout bearing combo."

I have a slave cylinder on the bell housing

Re: New S-10 frame/engine id

I think its a 88-98 gm truck short bed reg cab is 117.5 inch wheel base,Its a 6 lug the t case is a np241 which was only in a full size truck. The bad news the np241 was a shifter in the floor type but i think you could swap to a push button t case if you want. The np243 had 4 high 4 low 2 high the np246 had 4 low 4 high 2 high and 4 wheel auto.
