Re: Paint And Body In Memphis

I know several in the Memphis area. A decent paint job is going to cost $$$$. The guy who is going to paint my truck is very good. But he has a long waiting list. I spoke to him in March. He will start on the paint and body work this fall. He only works on one car at a time.

Re: Paint And Body In Memphis

Here is the link to my pictures. http://fredbrooks.photosite.com/

I am working on the 70 Chevy truck. The Mustang and Ford truck were painted by different painters. The guy who painted the Mustang is really good. The guy who painted the Mustang was about 19 when he painted the car. That was about 4 or 5 years ago. This was the first car that his dad let him paint for a customer. He now does all the painting for their shop. Since then he has improved 100%.

The guy who painted the Ford truck is also good. But you have to tell him everything you want done. He does not assume anything. Overall he is good. Also the Ford painter runs a small body shop. So if he has an insurance job he will usually work on it first.

Re: Paint And Body In Memphis

great looking cars, I really like that Mustang and 32 ford. Are you going to restore the 32 or street rod it. Is it as solid as it looks. My father and uncle specialized in restoring 32-48 fords for years before the aftermarket took over. Still have a really nice 46-46 ford body and chassis. Anyway your truck looks to be in about the same conditon as mine, i have already replace my rockers, body is pretty straight but still a little rust in the floor boards. Let me know when you get some more infor on how much yours costs and how long it will take. Thanks

Re: Paint And Body In Memphis

I wanted to cut up the 32 ford. But I lost that battle. We are going to restore it back to original condition. Its a very solid car.

Who replaced the rockers on your truck? How soon are you looking to paint your truck?

Re: Paint And Body In Memphis

a friend and i did it, they are ok but not perfect, at that point i was done with the body work. Im flexible on getting in painted. I could have it to someone next week but I would like to get it painted at the latest sometime this winter so I can have it back on the road next spring.
