S-10 for dayli driver?

i might be looking to trade my 1990 volvo 960 3.0 Aut RWD for a 1988 2.6 4x4 Reg cab SWB

it has come rust bubbles around the windshield but other then that its rust free, just as my volvo

it will be used as a comuter truck i drive 74miles to and from work

only reason i want to trade is i hate to put greasy stuff on in the white interior of the volvo its a very nice car love it really bad but i also feel bad about what i use it for its also hard to stuff a smallblock v8 into the trunk
ask me how i know lol

any thoughts on this?

A tired warrior of the 1980s in a world of low profile tires, front wheel drive, and plastic bumpers, where people stay in their houses until snowplows move the offending substance from their paths, too helpless to travel without AAA and chains and salt, clearing their windows with longhandled brushes while gently stepping around in the snow trying to stay nice and dry.

Re: S-10 for dayli driver?

They are very dependable trucks, cheap to fix if they do break down. I drove my 1991 extended cab as a daily driver for almost 10 years. It only required basic maintenance. My only concern would be the rust in the roof, over here they are notorious for rusting from the inside out.

Re: S-10 for dayli driver?

^i agree, I still have my 91 2.8 5spd.mines 2wd but I got great gas mileage with it. I've averaged 25-27 mpgs out of it empty. Those little 2.8 v6 are tuff little motors. there not real powerful, but dependable they are. I've got 175,000 miles on the clock on mine. and those aren't easy miles. oil changes weren't as frequent as they should have been. but it still runs good to this day.

S10s are great little trucks and you should do well on gas with it.

Can you get parts easily for it over there? If not, I'd pass.
