CA members: What do you pay for registration?
Hi guys, quick question for any CA members who own a Suburban. What do you pay for annual registration? I have an F250 7.3 right now and I'm paying about $300 a year in registration. I've been looking at older diesel Suburbans, and I was curious what these would cost. I'm assuming since they are an SUV, they wouldn't be dinged as much because they aren't "commercial vehicles" but the state loves to rip us off so maybe I'm wrong. Thanks in advance for any input!

The old diesel subs are good for mpg, but not the hauling you maybe used to with the 7.3.

I payed 83$ for my 85 diesel suburban this year.
The 7.3 is still a great motor you won't see anywhere near the mileage and toque out of a sub that you see with it. Posted via Mobile Device

Thanks for the replies guys. That was my only concern, I know the 6.2's are great motors in terms of reliability, but I've heard they aren't the best for towing. I love my 7.3 but I'm sick of giving the state so much money
 . Do they do better when they have a turbo? And what kind of mpg do you get in yours zaccaglin?

The reason you are paying so much is the weight fee.. As you go up in weight you go up in money.. With a burban you wouldn't have the weight fee and it would be right around $100 or so.. Like they said you aren't going to get the tq like you do in your truck currently. Now of course you could buy a diesel burban and then rip it out and throw a 454 or even a 4bt in there..

The 6.5 turbo and manifolds pretty much bolt on and supposedly wake it up pretty good. I have all the stuff to put on mine but haven't had time for it yet. I like mine as-is for a driver but haven't towed anything with it.
