I need a parts expert

I have a steering wheel listed for auction on Ebay. I pulled this wheel off my 71 about 10 years ago. So I listed the wheel as a 67-72. I recently received an email from an Ebay member eezrider55 who says the wheel is not a 67-72 but more like a 73 or up.

Does anyone know this eezrider55 , since he only has an 81% feedback, Im not sure whether I should take his word for it or not.

However, Ive hung around this board lurking and posting a little, but enough, to feel I would trust you guys opinions. Now this eezrider55 may be a member of this board and know exactly what he's talking about, and I'm not trying to insult him, but I would like for some of you who might know to take a look at this wheel and tell me if I listed it wrong. Like I said I pulled it off my 71 about 10 years ago and thats why I listed it that way. I also know on these trucks parts are changed out all the time, so I might have listed it wrong.

Also before I placed the wheel up for auction I looked at other wheels that was up for auction. And the looked just like mine and was listed as 67-72.

Here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMESE%3AIT

Thanks

He's actually right. I'm not sure what year it is but I had an '86 Silverado with a similiar steering wheel. I know it's not '67-'72.

From what I can make out it's certainly not a 67-72 Truck wheel.

Yep, those came after our 67-72's, even though it will fit in ours. We had one on a mid-to-late 70's truck.

WOW, thanks for the quick replies. I have a bidder on the auction already so I cant change the auction listing. I wonder if I should just email the bidder that its wrong and cancel the auction. Or since there is a picture of the wheel just leave it, since folks can see what they are buying anyhow.

Thats wierd that Ive seen other auctions with wheels that looked the same as mine and were listed as 67-72.

Thanks for the quick replies

I agree, not 67-72, but it's not really even that...aren't 67-68 wheels different than 69-72? My truck, 67, had a 3 spoke wheel. I replaced it with a 72 coulumn with no shifter on it....auto shifter on the floor....anyone know for sure?

I would probably email him letting him know what you now know. He may be in the dark as well and you don't want to misrepresent the item. He may know what he is bidding on but it would be best if you were honest IMO.

Those wheels were sold as a replacement steering wheel for the 69-72 trucks after '73 and were stock on 73 to ?. 67-68's do have a 3 spoke wheel with round chrome horn button.

Here's what Im going to attempt to do. Im going to email the bidder and explain the situation and see about me canceling his bid so it doesnt look like he retracted it. Then I will try and fix the listing so it reads something like 73 and up Chevy Truck Steering Wheel, Also Fits 67-72.

There are about a dozen folks watching the auction and that way they will still be watching it and see the changes.

Ok, I had to end up canceling the auction and relisting it. If anyone wants to check it out and give me a critique it would be more than welcome.

Thanks for the help
