Driveshaft?

How do you remove the driveshaft from the tranny? I've got a 2-piece, I don't know if all of them are like that or what. Anyway, I unhooked the shaft from the rear end and just figured it would slide forward, nope. theres a bushing/hanger/carrier or whatever you wanna call it right in the middle and I can't push it past that. There is a bolt on the end of the first shaft in between the 2 but whenever I try to turn it it just spins, is that how I remove it? Even if that is how, it don't quite understand how that will help me...

Help ASAP. Thanks.

Remove the bolts holding the center carrier bearing in place. That will allow the drive line to move forward enough to clear the yoke on the rear end. If you are going to just remove the rear half of the drive line mark both the front and rear halfs with something so you can slide the two together again in the same alignment. This helps with the drive line balance.
Any questions?
