Talking The New Engine!!

I finally finished the new engine for my 69. I installed it and have driven it the last week, so far. It runs great and I think I'll be ready run it hard this week to see what it can do.

Great lookin' motor!! But if it was mine, that fire hazard air cleaner would go to the trash can as fast as I could get it there. I don't think I'm the only one that hates those air cleaners. If I remember correctly, there have been a few fires caused by that type of air cleaner because of backfires. Maybe the blower eliminates that problem, I don't know. Anyway, something to think about. Still, it IS a damned nice lookin' motor! Good job!

Just about to ditch the same air cleaner from my truck in favour of a K&N, it now has two crispy round holes in it from a carb backfire and a corresponding ring of melted foam on the underside of the hood. Dangerous piece of kit!
