does anyone know is the engine mounts are different for an 84 impala than a 86 burb? I am trying to buy the car for the engine and junk the rest of the car.

The mounts are the same. The flex plates are different, but if you use the flex plate that matches the engine you can use the 86 trans on the 84 engine.
