350 invader

I’m looking at a 1971 GMC Short Bed truck with a 350 Invader motor and was wondering if all GMC trucks had the invader engine or is it something special?
I found some info about the CMC Sprint with the invader but thats it so far.
Thanks
DMX

Re: 350 invader

I might be wrong here....but it thinks thats the loaded version of GMCs, where as the Chevys are "deluxe"

Re: 350 invader

It’s a Sierra Grand edition which I don’t know anything about. Is this the loaded version?
Thanks,
DMX

Yes, the Sierra Grande is the loaded version. I'm not sure about the invader engine, but I'm sure that someone here will. Simply being a V-8 SWB Sierra Grande makes it special. What options does it have?

Re: 350 invader

GMC was calling all their V-8's 'Invader' in the early 70's.

Yup, it's a regular old Chevy motor, nothing special.

Re: 350 invader

Thanks for the warm welcome from everyone; I don’t know much about these trucks. I pick it up Tuesday and the owner is sending me some pictures. I’ll post them as soon as I get’em. Things I do know: No A/C & Tach., & factory headliner. This truck is all original except drop spindles & springs. It also has some nice rims on it.
If you can think of anything I need to find out before I buy let me know.
