Truck keeps running?

Hey all hope the holidays were good to everyone I know they were to me. Anyhow Ive been out wrenchin on the truck and finally got it running again but now it dosnt want to stop. When I turn the ignition off it continues to idle normally for about another 10 seconds before shuting off. Any idea's? Im running a 327,HEI,electric cooling fan. It used to shutdown fine before the only new thing on the engine is the electric cooling fan.

Thanks all
Tim

Re: Truck keeps running?

your electric cooling fan is back feeding into the HEI.
You should rewire it with a relay so it gets its power from the battery, and the signal to turn on from the switch... be it a toggle, a sensor, or both.
This will cure your run on issue, and make the fan run faster...PLUS, you won't melt your fuse box from the amps you are drawing from it right now.
