Air Pressure When Parked?

I was told that when you park your vehicle for an extended period of time (overnight) that you should lower it but to NOT let all of the air out. I was told to always leave at least 10lbs in the bags......thoughts on this?

Re: Air Pressure When Parked?

I prefer to leave mine at ride height. If its goi.g to leak down, I want to know before I drive it, not out on the road

Good advise.
I dont dump it unless im at a show. or showing off. I dont think you are hurting anything leaving it aired out

Re: Air Pressure When Parked?

I have a friend who didn't run the airline anti freeze in the winter and had his valves freeze with the truck laying frame.

Did you bother to ask the 'adviser' on why they suggested this course of action? I'm curious about what their reasoning was....

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: Air Pressure When Parked?

I would like more info on this. I park in the garage at home, but I don't usually air it all the way out, except at the office and if I'm in a shopping mall, etc, for safety.

Re: Air Pressure When Parked?

On the helper bags, the instructions say to leave 5-10 psi in them while running under normal load. Maybe that is what the advisor was getting at

Re: Air Pressure When Parked?

I air it out enough to rest on the bump stops, but never completely empty the bags. Airs up quicker this way...

Same here, I can lay frame without completely emptying the bags

I agree with N2TRUX, other then your own personal satisfaction at looking at your truck airred out, there is absolutely no reason to let the air out of your bags when parked

Re: Air Pressure When Parked?

When mine is parked it gets to the bumpstops without airing out completely, however I was also told that it was better to have the bags deflated when not driving it something about the bag being in its normal form. Maybe someone from one of the manufacturers can put their input as I am curious my self also.
