I like my Pro Comp Mud Terrains.I have never heard them cause the truck hasnt been on the road but the guy I bought some tires from said they werent loud.Of course,my headers and glasspacks will cover the noise anyway

Quiet and mud tire do not go together in the same sentence. If you have to have a mud tire get a “mud tire”…..Superswamper TSL’s all the way. They are a pretty dang good snow tire for the mountains too. They kind of sound like a turbo prop airplane going down the highway.

A milder mud radial like Goodyear MTRs,BFG,or ProComp M/Ts are quiet in my book.Quiet as all seasons?Hayell no.4wds are supposed to have tires you can hear. That`s in my book, too.I like to hear my exhaust and tires while I feel the bounce of my leaf-sprung suspension. That`s why I drive all that truck.

Re: new tires what to get??

check Ebay or craigslist in your area if you want to save a little. My BFG's had 1,000 miles on them and I stole them for $150 for 4. The guy wrecked his truck and had them in his garage for a year.... I like the look of the BFG M/T's though and was going to get a set before I found mine...

Re: new tires what to get??

Toyo open country M/T's are relatively quiet. I've had them and BFG A/T's. The Toyo's were actually quieter than the BFG all terrains!

Re: new tires what to get??

Super Swamper TSL's are awsome in mud and snow, something we have alot of at the same time in Colorado. I like them alot, but noise and tire life are both bad for a daily driver. BFG muds are a compromise, but still look tough!! They tell me that if you sipe [not sure of spelling?] the mud T/A it is one of the best all around tires out there?..

Re: new tires what to get??

10 inch speakers and a 200 watt amp and swamper tires go good togather. At night on the ride home from a day of mudden sometime i swear the roar of the tires are in time with the music. like the lumberjack song by the Jackyls cranked.Cool

Re: new tires what to get??

Look into dunlop Mud rovers. Not as agressive as a swamper, but then again not as noisy either. It's a radial tire too, so it balances easy and doesn't flat spot after sitting.

I'm not a big fan of slogging through the mud, but what little I have the mud rovers cleaned well and pulled the truck through. I like them for the mountain trails and snow DirtyLarry and I go wheeling in.

If your not going to put a lot of street miles on it and don't mind the noise, get the swampers or Swamper LTB's. If your going to do a little more street than trail, but still want the mud tire, look at the dunlops or BFG's.

I paid $125 a tire at sam's club for 35x12.50 15 Mud rovers. That same size in a BFG was another $50 more per tire.

Re: new tires what to get??

I had both the BFG muds, and Swamper SSR's on my last truck. The SSR's out performed the muds in every way and were quieter on the street. I'd
highly recomend them. My .02

Re: new tires what to get??

My last 4x4 had Big-O Bigfoot Xt's. Same pattern and compound as BFG's for about $20 less a tire. I got 40k miles out of them when I sold the truck and they still had a good amount of tread.

Not to mention the fact they wheeled very well!
