Hi to every one I have this 72 blazer and I put a 6.0 charged with a 4l60e and not sure which transfer case put in . It was a allwheel drive and I pulled it off. A friend and I was messing around he had a np208 w/right hand drop and it bolted rite on but it dont have VSS on it like the tc.

An NP241 fits the bill perfectly!

It is nearly identical to an NP208 in appearance, is identical as far as dimensions go, uses the same shifter and bolts straight up anywhere a 208 will, but is available with a VSS, and has a slightly better low range as well. You can get them with both 27 and 32 spline input shafts, which are interchangable with relatively little work as compared to other t-cases.

You can buy them from Blazers, Jimmies, Suburbans and Crew Cab pickups from 89 - 91. In 89 they have a speedometer cable drive like the old transfer cases, but in 90 it was switched out to a VSS. If you find an 89 case, you can swap on a VSS tailhousing without any modifications. From NP241 has been available in the half ton trucks since 88 but is a driver's side drop, so you have to get it from the old body style trucks with the solid front axles

Despite being a 3 year only case, they arn't really that hard to find, but they are a bit more expensive. I paid 500 for a rebuilt 89 case since I need the speedometer cable drive until I make my 6.0L swap. Used VSS cases would go for closer to 300 or so.

You can also get a speedo cable to VSS adapter. There are a few sources for this. Try Bowtie Overdrives or Painless Wiring. That's what I used for my 700R4/350TBI swap. The EFI needs VSS signal, and I was ablt to keep my stock speedo. Cheaper than a t-case swap too.
