Layin frame with full exhaust?

has anyone done this? im really wanting to have the exhaust coming out under the bumper.

I haven't done it yet, but have plans to. My notch cover is extra tall to accommodate it. I'm going to run it over the top of the bridge.

I kicked the back side of my notch back a little and made it tall enough for the exhaust to run between the rear end and the notch, then out of the side in the fender area. My last truck was bagged with dumps and it was just too loud.

Hate to hijack buttt.......

kid54, in that picture is the truck laid out? If so did you build that notch with room to grow or something? Its awful tall in relation to the axle position. Trying to get an idea on how much of my bed will be left with a notch and the bed floor raised above the notch.

Yeah I built it tall in case I wanted to go with bigger wheels/tires, and so I could run the exhaust through. You could easily get away with a nothc that's 2-3" shorter.

Im not laying frame but I did this so I could run the exhaust outside of the frame rails from the trans crossmember back, I figure theres alot more room for mufflers on the outside.

I wouldnt think this is too difficult. I'm running a static drop and had my exhaust all built up in the frame so as not to hit. Blew holes thru my x-member but dumped in front of the rear tire. This was before the aftermarket x-members came out. Now the lowest part of the truck, besides the control arms as we all know, is my freakin' tranny pan!!! I will be converting to a cast aluminium pan soon.

I do not have any extensive frame mods besides a large step-notch for the rear axle.

What size tire did you make the notch for? Im kinda like you, Im going to build my notch for a larger tire, 29in, but will run supremes or something like that most of the time.
