s=st louis plant
884634=think that means 84634 unit off the line

This can mean one of two things... I've seen dated GM papers saying two seperate things.
Some assembly plants had 2 lines for one model... meaning, in this case, in 69, St Louis had 2 assembly lines for the C/10- 30 truck.
The one line, the serial number started at 100,001.
On the second line, the count started at either 700001, or 800001... like I said, I've seen dated GM papers say both ways.
We have a VIN decoder that is quite acurate on this site, it only has a few details missing;

*note, this is only chevy... not GMC*
