72 C-10 sbc to bbc swap

Hello all. I am new to this site and dont quite know how to navigate it just yet. I am sure this topic has been discussed several times but I dont know where to find it. I have a 72 C-10 that was a factory 350 truck. I am going to stick a 454 in it. I searched the internet and came up with gm part number 334601 for the frame bracket and 3962748 for the motor mount. These are 72 specific if I understand correctly. My question is are these correct and what is the part number for the bracket that bolts to the engine and slides over the motor mounts?

Thanks! I found those threads very useful. Are the 334601 mounts the ones that are in sameyrasmea72 photos in the second thread. If so do you know what motor mounts to use? The ones he is using dont look like the ones I saw from energy suspension.

No that part isn't in any of the pictures it is the bracket that goes from the block to the motor mount on the frame tower. I can post a picture of that part later as for I am at work now. It seems comlicated but with the help of board members you will find the right parts needed to comlete your project. Problem with 72 is that they made a 72 only motor mount tower that sits on the frame wich holds the motor mount. The motor mounts are avalible ask your local parts store for Motor mounts for a 1978 chevy c-10 454 1/2 ton 2wd. they are the same I picked mine up for under $10 each.. as for the towers you can fine some used ones for sale they often come up here on the board you just have to keep your eyes open and check daily in the parts for sale..If you notice in the second thread HART_ROD picture shows 67-71 motor mount towers and SAMEYRASMEA72 SHOWS THE 72 ONLY ONES.. the picture shows the motor mount tower and the motor mount mounted on the tower but not the part in question.(334601)

Re: 72 C-10 sbc to bbc swap

Thanks. I did what you said and looked in the parts for sale section and got the whole setup. I appreciate your help on this. I suppose I will be selling the ones I ordered from gm when they get in.
