Just Bought a New Toy !!!!

I just finalized a deal and sent the deposit for my new ( to me) 99 Tahoe with the Z56 Police Package and only 78,000 miles. We are flying down to California in two weeks to pick her up and drive her home. Its been a 2 1/2 year hunt for something to replce the Burb I wrote off in April 06.

Thanks for the response. We are looking forward to the trip home as long as we don't hit a blizzard with the 4x2 and no snow tires. Its a California truck and doesn't have a block heater, but I don't plan too be driving her in the Winter.

I found it on Ebay and there is always one or two for sale on there but sometimes they are real beat up. I've attached a couple of Ebay links for two that are on auction now. The Florida one looks pretty good and this guy has had few of these for sale from time to time but I find him a little pricey. I won't say what I paid for mine but its way below the Florida auction "Buy it Now " price and mine has the upgraded LS Package with the high back buckets, carpet and the power options including rear A/C . If you are looking for one make sure to check the RPO Codes to insure it has the Z56 Police Package Code and I wouldn't buy one without the GU4 ( 3:08 Rear Gears) and G80 (Positraction).

Re: Just Bought a New Toy !!!!

That is very nice! Do you plan to do anything to it, or are you just gonna enjoy the way she is?

Very sharp looking ride.

Re: Just Bought a New Toy !!!!

We are back home and wow, is this Tahoe ever nice. Its tight as a drum and rides and handles like a sports car and that is exactly what it should do with the Z56 Police Suspension Package. I took it for the very thorough provincial safety inspection yesterday and it didn't need a thing. On the Interstates
I was driving between 75 and 80 miles an hour and averaged 18 MPG US
( 21 MPG CDN ) on the 1800 mile trip home. Driving on the I15 up through Idaho and into Montana she was cutting the 50 MPH corners at 65/70 MPH with no body lean or loss of stability.

CMart I plan to keep this vehicle a long time and basically enjoy it just the way it is. I may put a K & N Filter charger system and throttle plate on it to get a little more jam and mileage from her but other than that she will be my summer daily driver and stored for the Winters so yes NUKE2 you may see her around Saskatoon in the summer months and if you do see me stop and say hi.

I took a couple of pics on the way home. The first one is me doing something I've always wanted to do and that is drive down "Russian Hill" on Lombard street in San Francisco. THe one with the mountains in the back is near Lake Tahoe, Nevada and lastly near Craters of the Moon in Idaho.
