performance cam questions

Is there a company that makes camshafts for 4.3's that are compatible with the efi and the valve guides of a vortec head? Comp makes a cam that I am interested in but it has .500" lift with the stock rocker arm ratio and Im not sure if my heads can handle that kind of lift.

Re: performance cam questions

I think if you upgrade to the recomended springs you should be ok. Comp says you need to have adjustable valve train too, which means changing your studs. ARP makes screw in studs for the 4.3.
I would call Comp's tech line and find out what they recommend. Those guys are the experts.

Re: performance cam questions

Crane makes cams for the 4.3, and Edelbrock does also. You can try GM Performance Parts too.

Re: performance cam questions

I looked at Edelbrocks website just before I posted and did not find a cam for balance shaft engines. Crane Cams has shut down. I'm sure the cams will be available for a little while yet, but I don't think you will be getting any tech support from them.
I just searched GM performance parts and nothing came up.
