78 SB C10 - Keepin it in the family

My mom and here second husband bought this truck new and then traded it to my dad for a Chevelle. My dad used it on our farm for years and it sat in the field rusting away. The truck is a factory 454 C10 Custom Deluxe with a TH400.

The bed, fenders and floors were shot when dad gave it to me but the tranny and engine run like a top. It's a work in progress and I'm doing things on a weekly basis but wanted to document my progress and when I found this site figured this was the place to do it.

I'll update this with a better description later and keep it updated as I go.

Here are a few shots of the truck as it was when I drove it out of the field. Most of the dents in the doors are from our cows or the bull leaning against them As you can see the rockers, floors, doors, bed, etc... are all in pretty bad shape.

I'll be working on this truck in stages as I go. The first thing I wanted to do was get the cab in better shape. The floors, corners, rockers and under cab supports were all rusted out. We used sealer on the cab floors as I'm going to be putting down sound deadening, heat shield and MIP flooring from LMC truck. This should prevent any rust from moisture that may get trapped under the flooring. Here are a few shots of this work.
