school sale

My school district in the town I live in has the largest bussing system in the whole state of Arkansas. They are[were] advertising some buses for sale also a 70 c-10 swb and two squares [82 and86]. I bid on all three trucks the 70 has a 327[I know, I know it should be a 307 or 350] they said in the bus shop in was a new 327 for a bus in a crate. It has about 3-4000 miles. 3ott [t-5 5speed] if I get it . No pics but I will have some once the bids are opened. Bed floor is nice no rust in the doors upper parts of the cab are good every thing else so so.

Re: school sale

Thanks, I'll know sometime in the next week Iguess when the bids will be opened. I tried to ask questions when I dropped off the bids but I was treated like a spy trying to steal cold war secrets. I am thinking there was some confusion concerning the terms of the sale so I hope that give me an edge because I understood the wording whereas most did not.

Re: school sale

I got it!!! I also found a t-5 s10 trans and a t-5 camaro trans !00 each. The camaro trans has a Hurst short throw shifter also it should have the 2.65 low gear instead of the trucks utlra deep 4.03. The OD ratio should be .72 in the trans so it should help a little on economy. I have a van tilt the the shift bowl was damaged at the shifter spot so I will grind it down to make a tilt for the floor shift [smooth bowls]. One of my parts trucks was a power steering so I will put the pump and box on it for steering . I also have power brake booster to make it pb. Then a 4 bbl carb and since I have to take out the dist to change intakes, I will put in an HEI. I have some red custom bucket seats out of a 90 silverado [looks kinda like buddy buckets]. I also have the stuff leftover to put the 88-98 6 lug rotor stuff on cheap. also, The 71 last parts truck I got in [for the frame and 5 lug suspension] for my other 70 model project swb change over has headers and sneaker pipes so those probably will go on to. pics to come when I go get it . They said I had 30 days so not much hurry. Now for those keeping track of my progresses that is now three trucks to work on. I have been working on two basicly at the same time anyway. This 70 I just got is a runner and driver from what I was told.

Re: school sale

Very cool.

Now take some pics of what you got.

What part of Arkansas is Marianna located?

I grew up in a small town called Malvern which is close to Hot Springs.

Again Congrats!

Awesome, I'm jealous that you have room to collect a few trucks. I have room for just the one.
