Need opinions

Looking at buying this blazer. Owner says it is a low mileage Nevada truck. Says it has no rust ever. It also has saddle tanks. It looks like the torsion boxes were removed. I would like to take top off and drive truck sometimes but never off road. Would this worry you? Also does truck look as solid as advertised? Thanks for the help. Bubba

Bubba, it is hard to tell from the pictures how solid the Blazer is from the pictures that are provided. If you could get some of the floor board under the matting, the windshield frame where the top part joins the side, and the bed floor from both the top and bottom would be more helpful. These are some of the more common places that rust. As far as the rocker boxes, if you wish to drive with the top off, it is better to have them installed verses the saddle tanks being there. I had a set of tanks like that in my 1970 Blazer and it would flex more then I liked with the top off. Fortunately, There are after market replacement boxes available to put it back to factory.

Missing Rocker/Torsion Boxes = no top coming off (safely) and driving around.

I wouldn't do it - that isn't to say that it hasn't been done before.

SAme thing here, po put in saddle tanks in mine. I have been wheeling mine without rockerboxes and no ill effects yet, hardtop still bolts on fine and door gaps are acceptable, not perfect, but not bad at all
