A-body steering colum in 68 C10?

I have a 68 c10 with a 3 speed on the column. Planning on an vortec 5.3/4l60e swap. I would like to keep the shifter on the column as opposed to the floor.

Does anyone know if an a-body automatic column (67 skylark) will work in place of the 68 manual?

Do later truck columns work? I do not want a column with an ignition switch on it.
