i am in the process of building one just like it exept i through the plastic frame away and made a kustom frame,everythings shaved with a viper motor and bucket seats.Layin rockers. hope to finish it soon.

Man that is awsome! Is that a origanal LWB model? Can you give use more details on the build up? Like where exactly to get wheels etc...

No it isn't a lwb model. It is the New Jada diecast short bed model. I used the KMC off of a Escalade (DUB CITY) for the back and the same wheels off of a Chevy Avalanche for the fronts. I used a peice of hobby wood for the bed, with the side modeling for the bed ribes. I used bondo from wal-mart to fill in the sides where the modeling went. I also filled the stock brake light area, and made my own roll pan for the back and put the tail light there. The engine scoop is from a little Muscle Machines car. I had a friend of mine cut the hood out for the scoop.

This was my first try at this since I was a teenager. I need to try and get some better picture's of it, with better light. Thanks for the complaments, and if I do anymore I will post them.

Just started custom work to my WIX Blazer. Man lowering was a snap, just boke off 4 metal tabs and bam! slammed! Next I start removal of all the sidemoldings, and painted it a dark metalic blue with matching top. It's just a quicky paint job to see if I like the color. But I plan on filling the side molding indentions and holes, and the gas tank filler hole and the door handle holes. Then some 20s! I'm also going to put some LEDs in it! LOL of course!

I'm thinking of sandblasting the body after I smooth everything, and use that Anodizing paint from Dupli-Color on it, but where the bondo is might throw the color off so I may paint a silver molding in place of the origanal. I'm also thinking of buying a plastic 72 model just for the side mirriors. I don't like the side mirriors that came with the Wix blazer. To big and goddy. I'd really like to put a 72 grill on it but........

I also want to undergo a full R/C conversion to it, but I want it to have anough power to pull the front wheels! LOL Pictures soon.

looks good. I kinda want one of those.. I have this crazy idea of taking one of those, gutting it.. and making it radio controlled.. but.. my real project is a money vaccume. As soon as I find some free cash a deal comes along that I just cannot pass up hehe.

not that thats a bad thing.

Yes making it R/C won't be that hard just a little time consuming, the hard part there would be getting anough batteries in it to make it fast. Also making it turn sharp with it slammed down on big wheels. I'd start with some R/C stuff from Tower Hobbies. R/C is my second hobby, but I'm used to building R/C monster trucks. Also keeping interior for detail would be hard.

i was into R/Cs last summer. got me a nitro truck ran it all summer, it was great.. at the end of the summer... the LHS informs me that the engine needs a rebuild.. so its been sitting in my garage waiting.

hpi NMT os .12 VCRX paris pipe, futaba radios, I really enjoed the truck, but it seems every time you run it it breaks something.

so for now, I want to get out of r/cs for the speed, and get into it more for something to show off heh. a moving model of sorts

Yeah I know what you mean, my Kyosho USA-1 has more money in it than I'd like to say! LOL But for the diecast R/C I want to build, I just want to be able to pull wheellies! LOL don't need to be to fast just hella power!

ya.. a friend of mine has a T-maxx he slapped a .21 OS engine on the thing.. and had to put a wheelie bar on the back. from a stand still the truck could do a 180 and land on its roof.. it was awesome.

hes selling it now because he doesn't like putting money in it.. he has well over $1k involved in it however.

I hda a crazy idea a month ago to make a lego r/c.. didn't work.. can't find a gear mesh that matches the one I'm using on the lego, and I'm not going to do any hotgluing or anything to make it work.

by the way, ever since you said that idea about the LEDs flashing between amber and red.. I htink that'd be REALLY cool.. how hard would that be to do?

btw, you should slap some LED lights on your model man.. light it up at night lol, get it r/c get it lit up.. it'd be even cooler than it is now

hey just the model year I've been looking for.... but its longbed! hrmm, at least its die cast.. how hard would it be to uh.. fix that ya think?

Cut it about 1/4" before the front of the bed and shorten the under carriage and use jb weld to put it back togher. You would need to measure a short bed to get the right length.,
The under side should be easy to do since it will be plastic, just glue it back.
To get it perfect you would have to cut it twice because the fender is to close to the front, on a real truck there is not that much fender behind the wheel.

I'd hafta buy the panel and truck tho.. cos the truck has gold trim and that just wont fly...

looks like it'd cost me about $40 for the trucks.. not to mntion shipping paint and "body work" heh but I'd have a nice model to sit on my dash if/when I go to car shows
