Does a spring go here?

On the Emergency brake aasy. And if so,... anyone have a spare I could buy?
The ratchet has never engaged and now that Im reasymbling the jimmy, its an issue.

Yes but all the spring does is snap the handle back in place so the teeth will catch. Just like if you push the lever back with your hand the ratchet should lock where ever you push the pedal to. I am only saying this because you say the ratchet never worked. My 71 blazers spring is broke. I use the emergency brake. I just push the lever back in after I disengage it.

any hardware/ auto parts spring will work......just take the part w/ you...
