Valve cover question

Ok, Im looking to buy new valve covers....need some opinions please...

So I found these edlebrocks that I like.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Edelb...item563da648b0

But Im worried about leaks...So should I shell out 10 more bucks and buy these..... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ball-...Q5fAccessories

I was really set on a black finish but are aluminum's ALOT Less likely to leak??

Or should I be fine the edelbrock's??

Thanks

Re: Valve cover question

I think you should be ok with the Edelbrock ones, if you´re worried, use some spreaders on the bolts.

Re: Valve cover question

I just finished my 406 and put these on it.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SBC-C...Q5fAccessories No leaks and the flanges are well made. Plus i have not seen many on our trucks. The welds around the edges look cool and are perfectly lined up.Cheap price to. Just an opinion.

Re: Valve cover question

The aluminum ones look like they do not have baffles in them. I do not like oil sucking covers.

Re: Valve cover question

Don't go cheap, get a good set , it will be worth it in the long run. Also get a set that has at least one hole in each, one for pcv and the other for a breather.

Re: Valve cover question

Be careful about buying the tall covers whether steel or aluminum. I've found that the tall covers interfere with the alternator when it is attached with stock brackets.

Re: Valve cover question

Finned. I got em off Fleabay. Fit and finish were excellent and they have baffles.
