69 dash /column -rubber pad install?

on my 69 dash -there id a rubber piece-that has a hole in it for the column -anyway i need to install it & need some idea on a way to do it ?? did not want a major overhaul ?

Are you taking about the part the meats up with the gauge cluster. If so you have to remove the steering column to install.

yes -its out of truck! on bench -was wondering if i can slide it up column ?after removing the clip? & lower cap? BUT was wondering how to get rubber over lever arm ??thanks for any info!

Not shure I have a 4 speed floor shift so I never had to deal with the shift arms. Maby it will stretch. I had to strach it over the colum harness plug and that was a struggle

i might try that ? if i have to i would send it to one of the column guys on here ! its a tilt column -i bought that had a butchered up wiring plug -i got it fixed ! just need to get this pc or rubber grommet ? on column -w/o screwing up anything ! thanks

Mine is also tilt. Just start at the bottom and finagle it up. It's the shift linkage that will give you the most struggles. Again I did not have to deal with that. Heat the rubber up a bit so it can streach more. Makes a guy wonder how they did it at the factory.

That rubber was installed before the column was assembled. It will stretch.
