55-57 Front Sheet metal on a 59?

I found a pretty smokin deal on a 59 half ton, Shorty stepside but I can't stand the front end, the quad headlights don't look right to me.

Will the 55-57 front sheetmetal bolt on without too much modification? I'd love to have something like that to cruise while my 74 is gettin cut up.

Doesn't sound any more difficult than 81+ swap on a square Chevy

I've done it, my truck is a 58 with 55 front sheetmetal. And entourageguy there is nothing at all wrong with a 59 front end and your truck is sweet.

Re: 55-57 Front Sheet metal on a 59?

Yea I know.
When I first bought my truck I looked into the front end change. But going to a few shows there were not many 58-59 ( yea I know because their ugly)
A face only a mother could love!!!

Do what ever you want and I don't think there is much involved to change to the earlier sheet metal. The big thing is the placement of the hinges. There was a previous post with the measurments.

I just love the look of that yellow truck. When I grow up I'm going to have one just like it. Oh wait, forgot I'm already 58.....

Re: 55-57 Front Sheet metal on a 59?

I like your truck Brian, and I'm really not into yellow. I'm glad to know that the swap isn't gonna be too tricky, first trick for it is prolly gonna be ifs, its still rockin the straight axle. I wanna get it down to earth then give it a facelift.
