67 Longbed step side

Ok Well I have been on this site for a couple months now and I think I well try and suck some bandwidth and start a build thread. Well I have been building this thing for sometime so here is The first day we got it. It was a gardeners truck who never cleaned it. The cab was full of dirt random tools and just crap. The box was just full dirt. 16.5 rims all around options were 250, 6 cyl granny low 4speed, 4.72 rear end front drums and thats about it. O its 67 c20 got it for $300. Even tho the rear window says 200

Looks like it should keep you busy, but what are your plans for it?

Re: 67 Longbed step side

Well my plans for the truck is to make a good hauler for parts trash scrap etc. But i also want it to be nice cruiser for shows mostly to get in to the Pomona swap meet for cheap. It well go for sale but it wont be a very negotiable price. Heres some more one of them shows the keys that i found in the fender when i took it off, after i destroyed the ignition. The first thing i did was swap the 6 for a 350 from a old project nothing special older L65 from a full size with 882 heads, replaced the Rear main, the balancer, and the front crank seal. Also got rid of the granny with a 4 speed signaw. Anyone need a 250 4 speed combo $250 Ran great tranny made noise. Heres some pics.

Re: 67 Longbed step side

I think its more of a diamond in the rough. Well I found a bed a while back off a 78 and i even found some stepside fenders in better shape off a 68. I also manged to found some 71 disc brakes for the front but the control arms need to be rebuilt. But thats not for a couple more posts. So heres so more. We ended up ditching the bed and sand blasting the whole cab the doors and the driver side fender which only had some minor rust but thinks to a doner 70 fender its back in good shape. But while we were looking for a 67 pass fender we found a 68 front end in really good shape so now the truck is going to be a 68 small window clone. Also we come up with the color for the truck 68 light green (came out teal) with black trim.
But paint was after rocker panels, rusty cowl repair, and a lot of dent repair.
Urgent after reinstalling the gas tank I pulled the sending unit to clean up the sending only to find RUST. So now i need a new tank I guess I want to do a rear tank so any one with a 73-87 blazer tank in so cal please help.
