mounting a reg cab on a crew cab chassie how hard is that?

im thinking removing the center body mounts and move the rear mounts/crossmember forward so it fits under the rear of the cab

my friend did the opposite and used the really long wheelbase truck(12 foot bed) and put on a 4 door cab.

More work than I'd want to commit to, not saying it can't be done although you will pay in blood sweat and tears. If the crew cab is solid and in good shape just keep it that way.

I see. Still sounds like a lot of work though.

Somewhere someone is looking for a single cab for their project, I'd sell it and the extra frame and deposit the proceeds in the beer trust.

It wouldn't be hard. Just set the cab in place on the front cab mounts then take all the rivets out of the rear inner mounts and move them to the new location. Drill some holes in your frame and place bolts in the holes that had rivets.

if you want a big ol' bed start with dumptruck then you could even tilt the bed, just my two cents
