OK folks do the LINKY thing and see what our theme is for this month's contest.

Well, again sorry but paint jobs and appearance only just don't do it for me; i think there needs to be a story and very detailed technical info to go with each truck. i really don't care about looks---i'm more interested in the drivetrain. For example what if a truck had a turbocharged 6 and was still used for towing and was able to keep up with 8's and larger engines?

What if a truck was able to achieve 24 mpg on a regular basis?

What if a truck was built with donated/or salvage yard parts that were acquired very frugally? i'd want to know the story behind how the parts were attained.

What if it was a family affair----uncles, father/ or nephews helping out?

All these things are much more interesting than a fancy paint job, not taking anything away from the nice paint.

i think it would be more beneficial and healthy not only to readers of this website but for the car community and really, society in general if we went with the story route; We, as a society, judge WAY too much on appearance only. (We all, including myself who claims to care only about the drivetrain, should admit this to ourselves).

I agree completely with all of the above.

On another forum I am a part of they nominate 3 and the owners give a paragraph or two explaning what they did, why and how they did it. It provides the voters with more facts to base their vote/opinion on. It might be harder to do here with more nominees, but maybe we can trim that down to a half dozen or so. Just a thought.

It's weak, it's lame, too "good ol' boyish," and what does this really say?

The person with the best paint job automatically wins? For all we know some of the trucks may not even have engines in them?

i'm totally opposed to this kind of contest. Very lame.

i implore you to reconsider the contest parameters for next month.

I have to disagree with all the above. The theme changes every month and there have been and continue to be plenty of months specifically for work trucks, 'patina' trucks, 6 cyl trucks, and so on.
