Non accessory to accessory?
I would like to change ignition switch with an accessory side....can this be done without too much hassle? My 68 doesnt have an accessory select on it. Everything else is stock. I think it would require a new switch and wiring ( I'm weak on wiring....) Any help will be appreciated.

Re: Non accessory to accessory?
I've read from Longhorn man and Locdoc that 67's and some 68's didn't have accessory on the switch. I've also heard that its as easy as switching the wire from the ignition side to the accessory side once the switch has been changed (with the switch change giving the ability to turn the key in that direction, accessory isolates power to fan, radio etc... and the ignition powers everything) Just wondering if this is correct. Any links that touch on this mod?

Re: Non accessory to accessory?
i tried an accessory ignition switch in my 67 gmc and the accessory did not power anything. I did not persue it any further so not sure what the solution would be. Could be as simpe as changing a wire position behind the switch but am unsure.

Re: Non accessory to accessory?
It must be more common to not have. I have 3 '68's (well, 2 trucks and a wiring harness) and none of them have the ACC position.

Re: Non accessory to accessory?
I have no clue as of now and it is taking a loooonnnggg nap in the corner of the shop with another pickup infront of the drivers door. It would take me an hour of moving crap just to get to it.

Re: Non accessory to accessory?
The ACC is far left about 1030 position, right?
