Re: Need help identifying my 350
265 hp?! not a bad start for a stock motor. it had been sitting since 96 so i tried turning it on yesterday. Put some gas in the carb and wired up the starter and sure enough it turned on the first try ha

Re: Need help identifying my 350
Block and heads casting numbers make sense for that truck so are likely the original parts. How many hp variations were available as a 350 in 78 in light duty trucks?

Re: Need help identifying my 350
I had that exact same engine in a 1979 GMC K25. Great truck... it went to 325,000 miles on the original engine before I rebuilt it. I rebuilt it with a little more compression, better cam, and an aluminum intake and a Holley 1850 carb. I was the second owner. Wish I still had that truck today.
