need electrical help (pinout)

Does anybody out there have a pinout for the instrument cluster connector on a 91-94 truck? Preferably 91. I think 88-90 might serve my purpose too. The deal is, everything works on my cluster, with the exception of tach and speedo. I swapped in a known good cluster and the speedo still does not work. I would like to know which wires on the connector are supposed to be hot with the ignition on. Everything worked before, but I swapped a 5.3 in this truck and removed the ECM and all wires related to the TBI system. I'm thinking I might have cut a power wire going to the instrument cluster...

Re: need electrical help (pinout)

The instrument panel in 1991 is not like any other. (91 connects the same way as 88-90 and has the speed sensor buffer circuitry built in, but has a very slightly different pinout than 88-90.

1988-1990 = same
1991 same connector as 1988-1990 but some wires in different positions
1991 (mid year?) some late module year 1991 trucks had the needle style gauges but no separate DRAC.
1992 – 1994 instrument panel is interchangeable
1992-1995 The DRAC is separate from the instrument panel.
1996 the DRAC is built into the PCM

I had saved links many sites with information on these instrument panels, but the links no longer work. The sites on this topic had many errors in them. I believe the people pulled the sites because they realized how many errors there were. Most of the errors were on DRAC information & DRAC calibrating. I have critiqued them in the past, either at this site, or at Chevytalk.org.

Re: need electrical help (pinout)

Thanks for the help guys. I appreciate it. However, I found the problem on my own. I simply spliced the wires going to the VSS input on the 5.3 ECM backwards. Haha. Swapped them around and everything works perfectly!
