72 GMC grill and bumper on a 67 GMC?

I found a front grille and bumper off a 72 GMC in the classifieds. Is there any reason this won't fit on my 67 GMC? When I look at the parts in LMC online catalogue, it shows 1967 grilles different from 1968 to 1972. Is this an installation difference or just a slight cosmetic difference?

It will work but you will have to use the 67-68 style top bar not the 69-72 top bar

Fenders are all the same. Not sure how it would work with the 67/68 hood though. I'd be interested to find out how it would all fit. Is the core support the same through all the years?

Change the top bar and the hood will work the only thing different on the rad support is the 67-68 would have nut -serts for a gravel sheild and 69-72 would not.

I should also say 67-68's had a Chevy bumper on them and a 69-72 had a GMC bumper with the cut out for the park lights

Re: 72 GMC grill and bumper on a 67 GMC?

If all you want to do is use the '72 grille and bumper om your '67:

* The bumper is a bolt-on. Only difference is in '67 there were no dips where the turn signals are.

* The grille is the exact same dimensions in all three styles...67,68-70,& 71/72. The 67/68 top bars are different due to the hood difference. If you are retaining the '67 hood you can remove the rivets joining the upper bars on both grilles and exchange them. 67/68s must use the sheet metal upper bar/filler panel and 69-72s must use the chrome upper bar/grille surround with their original hoods.

Wow nice. Should start a FAQ under swapping grills.
