TKO 600 speed sensor hookup

Anyone using a TKO 600 with an AAW classic update wiring harness? If so, where does the VSS variable speed sensor power wire go to? On the AAW classic update kit it is the purple/white wire. AAW says it goes to the speed sensor, but there are only two wires coming out of that sensor, and they are already hooked up to the yellow and purple wires which are the signal wires.
Any ideas where the power wire goes to? AAW didnt know.

Re: TKO 600 speed sensor hookup

Tom,

I ran a TKO in my Camaro and will also run one in my 68 GMC.

If I remember correctly the 2 wires coming from the sensor go back to the speedometer and the sensor gets power from the speedo. Check the wiring for your speedo to confirm.

Also you can swap the wires without any ill affect, due to the design of the GM sender.

At first glance,it appears that wire may go unused in this application.

Hope this helps,
Shane

Re: TKO 600 speed sensor hookup

Tom,

I just went back through the instructions for my New Vintage guages.

It shows a 2 wire VSS as having a lead to ground & the other is the signal wire.

It would appear your harness has a power lead for a 3 wire VSS to be used.
