What is this flange supposed to be connected to?

I picked up a Walker muffler (21053) and tailpipe (45424) for my 'Burb. What is the flange on the muffler supposed to connect to? Can anyone get a picture and show me perhaps, my google-fu isn't turning up any clear options. My current muffler isn't attached to anything right there (this is between the muffler and cat). It's only connected at the rear of the muffler and near the end of the tail pipe. I'll get a picture to show what I have if need be in the morning.

Catalog from Walker for parts reference:

Also, are the exhaust clamps just pressure fit, since the pieces aren't slotted to allow compression, or am I supposed to slot them?

If there's not a hangar right there that's a good spot to weld one. I don't know what it's for though.

Anyone take a peek at theirs, maybe a picture and see if it's connected? Looking for something to go on here.

88-4X4 can't see it on mine but if there is no place for it a lot of times you can use the hanger that goes on a clamp
and hang it in a more convenient spot
clamps tighten without notches

Re: What is this flange supposed to be connected to?

Alright, turns out there is a location for a hanger there. On my old setup the bracket was broken off, but I was able to salvage the bracket from behind the muffler to put here. I had ordered new brackets for behind the muffer, and beside the gas tank along with clamps/ubolts. Pics show the story.

Broken Bracket (between cat and muffler):

Bracket that was salvaged from behind muffler:

Where it's supposed to be hanging from (broken bracket in foreground):

And a good showing of why I did this:

Neglected to take during/after install pictures due to being in a slight hurry. I'll get some in the sun tomorrow. One thing I didn't realize until doing this is how low the exhaust was hanging in the middle. The cat and muffler were well below the frame. See last pic:

Thanks!
