Re: amsoil z-rod oil feedback

I have 0 experience with that particular oil BUT Amsoil is top of the line. I would trust anything they make to do what it says it will do. I doubt you could possibly go wrong with any bottle with the Amsoil name on it. If I were you I wouldn't worry. Amsoil isn't some fly by night snake oil company.

BUT, they're such a big company, that if you needed oil for a snake, they'd probably have it!

A buddy of mine was just telling me he's running it in his Dog with a 440. He DOESN'T run anything that's not top of the line.

Re: amsoil z-rod oil feedback

I have also heard good things about Amsoil....however, I still run the "rotten dinosaur juice" in my toys...(old school)? Any rate, 25/50 Castrol goes in the 383. 10/30 penz or shell rotella , goes in the Silverado. The Harley takes 20/50, & the Kendall GT, seems to work as well as the high priced Harley brand....the Wix filters work good on the sporty as well as the high priced K&N ? Longhorn

It is a premium quality oil and has done quite well with several of my customers' hot rods...one of them does used oil analysis. I'll see if I can get a copy of one of his reports, but he's very happy with the zddp levels and TBN life.

Re: amsoil z-rod oil feedback

I run the 20-50 in my '63 (with a 396 flat tappet engine) with their filter too. I really like it. Seems that it runs just a hair smoother ( which is probably my imagination). I used to only run Kendall and Wix filters until now. Im slowly changing everything over to Am soil and so far so good. See if you can get the membership for 20$. I think in the long run, it ends up saving money if you do enough cars.
