Re: I like this guy....

I dunno... He sure talks tough for a guy that uses the word "Dickensian".

Me thinks he's compensating for a few too many pumpkin lattes of his own...

Re: I like this guy....

That's the best craigslist add for anything I've seen in a long time. If you think an AD truck with stock suspension rides rough you sure don't want to be looking at one of those.

71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant.
77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

Re: I like this guy....

Not me. He's a cynic, he's sarcastic and he's positive he knows better than others - that alone would make me NOT give my money to him. Screw him. I can give my money to anyone, why give it to someone who is an annoying know-it-all.

Plus he's got a giant chip on his shoulder about gun ownership which has NOTHING to do with buying or not buying his car. He just has a hard-on for the subject and uses the ad to proselytize.

NOT trying to be political, just disagree with liking this guy.

My guess is that it didn't take long for someone to show up to buy it anyhow.

Reminds me of when had a 55 Chevy Bel Air 2 door post for sale with the add clearly stating that the car had no engine no transmission and no interior and i was asking 350 1990 dollars for it. The body was straight but it had a big hole in the hood where someone had had a Thunderbolt style hood scoop on it. The car wasn't great but had a clear title and would probably sell for 4K now to someone on the Hamb or Ebay who wanted to build a gasser. In retrospect I should have stuck an engine in it and driven it as I was hurting for a driver at the time.
I had a half dozen people show up expecting to drive it home and upset that it didn't have an engine or seats when the add clearly stated that it didn't, I had one guy throw a fit because it had a 57 Pontiac rear axle under it rather than the stock axle. One guy claimed it wasn't a Bel Air because it didn't have the trim on or in it even though all the holes for the trim was there including the square punched holes for the Bel Air insignias being punched in the quarter panels. I finally gave up on selling it and traded it to a friend for a little station wagon that ran and drove and cash.

I'd think that many of us who have sold a number of older vehicles have had similar experiences.
