remote solenoid install, key in run position starter runs

Trying to install a painless remote solenoid.
Engine turns over and starter runs continuously as soon as key hits run position.

A po owner had a reman installed about 7 years ago.
A black wire and a red wire come up from the starter to the firewall.
I believe the black wire originally went down to the S terminal on the starter solenoid and so I rerouted it to the middle terminal on the remote solenoid.

I'll try to post a picture of what I've done so far

I figured it out and got it done. I had confused the wires connected to the starter "s" and "r" terminals.

Re: remote solenoid install, key in run position starter runs

I'm glad I installed the remote solenoid.
I think the wires to the s terminal and the r terminal were both damaged by heat.
The r terminal on the start er is really close to the headers.

The truck runs better now.
BTW I left the original battery cable in and just moved the connection from the battery + to the right side of the remote solenoid.
