Re: Silly question??

I believe its just another word for fleetside referring to the torpede's or spears along the side of the bed,the truck your looking at may have the chrome or stainless trim pieces on it,but i could be wrong?

Re: Silly question??

Thanks Brikar.

I also thought it was a Fleetside, but had never heard of it.
In the advertisement are no pics, it just say: "58 Chevy Apache Torpedo Head, V8" thats all.
Maybe I will spent an email on this...you'll never know ;-)

Grtz,

Kees

Re: Silly question??

Hi again.

I got in touch with the seller of the car.
It's indeed a Fleetside.

But unfortunatly it's a 4x4 on '75 frame, so that one isn't for me.

The search goes on!!

Re: Silly question??

After a search it appears that some people are referring to the shape of style design on the side of the Fleetside bed as a "torpedo." Most of the guys here probably would call it a spear shape.

It's rather like an Englishman asking you who louvered the bonnet on your truck in that it may be a local term.

Re: Silly question??

Living where you do I can't blame you for wanting a pretty much original truck to start your project with. I'd think it would be better to get a solid truck that runs and drives decently and after registering it in Holland start your project.
