Picked up a 68 Suburban from Vegas originally

It is in great shape with the exception of the weatherstripping being pretty beat up and each of the rear quarters have a little rust. About as much as big as a dollar bill.I bought new weather stripping from GMC Paul's. My questions are,I read that they were glued on from the factory,so what should I use to glue the replacements on? Also what gauge sheet metal should I buy to cut a patch or two out of? I can't spend all that cash for the whole patch panel.
Thanks in advance, for the input !

What weatherstrip are you looking for? If you are talking about the front doors, don't waste time with glue, look at my post about the one piece door seal. Also patch panels you should get 18/19 g metal.

Probably not, I have barn doors on mine. The seals do work for the front three doors as long as you get two sets and make one set fit the third door. But if there is a lip on the hatch, I bet you could make some of the new push on seals work. I've pulled some off trucks that have no bends formed in them and that could work, if you have a lip on the edge.

Good start you have there...
